ErixMekx: robot cooling systems
A modular thermal-regulation system for artificial species: survival built around heat and pressure instead of hunger.
Overview
ErixMekx replaces biological needs with a modular cooling loop. The goal was to move the challenge from simple battery management to thermal and pressure regulation.
Engineering specs
| Feature | Implementation | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal regulation | Heat-exchanger logic | Prevents burn/freeze damage based on the internal atmosphere |
| Pressure management | Fluid-dynamics simulation | Overpressure causes “brute” damage |
| Telemetry HUD | Custom UI injection | Live temperature (°C) and pressure gauges |
| Modular slots | Component-based architecture | Swap passive radiators for active pumping |
Technical deep dive
The core of the system is the LungsRobot organ. Unlike standard entities, it computes the waste
heat generated by battery use and needs constant coolant circulation to stay stable.
Key challenge: balancing toxin sensitivity, where certain gases contaminate the loop and the player has to engineer a flushing system, effectively turning the robot’s anatomy into a small chemical plant.
